Review and comments

After Samen in Zorg #1 we received many nice reactions and a review from Willem Bruring in De Wereld van Willem .

Review in The World of Willem

In line with that, a day later we saw the performance “ Samen in Zorg 1 ” by the Flemish theatre maker Brecht Hermans. The first episode of a triptych under the flag of Lab-Z, the development space for new talents of Theater Zuidplein. In principle the same theme: personal experiences around a theme that requires attention and that is sensitive. In this case that is psychiatric care. Hermans - he gained extensive experience at the inclusive theatre of Babel - and his three experts by experience know a lot to tell about that and they portray that in a remarkably multidisciplinary performance. Music, acting, dance, video recording, painting, drawing, cut-out dolls, you name it and it gets a place here. On the way home again, a possible suitable name for such performances crossed my mind: testimony theatre. Sharing personal experiences without making it too complicated. Highly personalised, because that only makes the message clearer. Perhaps that is one of the future perspectives for the dissemination of urgent cultural ideas: to make it as dangerously close as possible and to get irrevocably under the skin. A performance that makes you think in any case. [ ***½о ]
