May is the month of MID - a month in which we call attention to people with mild intellectual disabilities. A campaign bus will drive into the city (Utrecht) along squares, parks, educational institutions, community centers and the municipality. We will be there with theater, podcasts, an MID Xperience and coffee and tea to talk about this topic and let people see, hear and experience what it is like to live with an MID.

This campaign is organized by care organization De Wilg, who asked Stut Theater to make two performances with De Wilg participants: one for community centers and one for squares. Stut called me for the one on the squares.

Together with four participants from De Wilg and writer Anne Hogewind I made 'Op reis naar dichtbij' - an audio performance in which the performers of De Wilg each take one or two visitors to their own private little space - close to their thoughts, and far away on a journey in shared imagination.

The campaign bus is present from 12 to 16h. Our performance plays continuously within those times as soon as we are ready.
